When ever possible, materials were gathered from the farm.  The Pleasant View Cottage was built using framing materials from trees harvested on site and the hardwood flooring on the main level was created using a red oak tree cut from the property and milled off site. 

Clarence and Ethel taught thier sons to make use of or re-use whenever possible and Paul put his parents's teaching to good use when designing and building both the Cottage and White Pine Cabin.

The Pleasant View Cottage is a multi level unit, built into the hillside.  The main level features a spacious open floor plan with a living and dining room and full kitchen.  The living room has french doors leading out to an elevated deck that runs the entire length of the house.  

The upper level has 2 bedrooms with full beds and a half bath.  The larger bedroom on this floor has french doors leading onto a small deck with a deck chair-just perfect for some stargazing before turning in for the night!

The lower level has a newly remodeled full bath with a tub/shower, a bedroom with 2 twin beds and a small gathering area with french doors that lead to the covered patio with a 6 person hot tub.
